I started tapestry when I was a child. Later, while studying textile design, I continued to use tapestry as a way to express my creativity in a unique and personal way.

What Are Your Tips for Tapestry?

For people who are just starting out, it’s a very easy technique to understand, and for those who are more experienced, it’s a way to reveal yourself. So, you have to trust yourself and above all not hesitate to get started with tapestry!

How Did You Learn Tapestry?

It was my mother who introduced me to the basic techniques when I was a child. Then I learned more complex stitches from books.

What Are Your Tapestry Essentials? (Thread/accessories)

I love using lots of colours and I couldn't be without my storage boxes to organise all my thread.

What inspires you?

Most of my inspiration comes from my daily environment, the shapes and colours of everyday objects but also by the nature that surrounds me. I am captivated by joyful vibrant colours.

What’s your favourite piece of work?

My favorite work is a piece I made a few years ago. I drew a pattern and then embroidered it with beads, sequins and various stitches. The final result represents my work well, a colorful mix between tradition and modernity.

What difference has stitching made to your life?

I enjoy tapestry a lot. In my artistic and textile design practice, it allows me to experiment with different textures and images. Beyond a hobby, with tapestry and embroidery, I can express my ideas and emotions.
