About

The kit comes complete with 100% virgin wool tapestry yarn and a preprinted canvas that makes it easy for you to recreate the work in soft tapestry. The design was initially produced as a wallpaper by Essex & Co in 1897 and then as a hanging in woollen cloth tissue in 1898, by Alexander Morton & Co. The owls in the design are nestled amongst cool coloured foliage, making a stunning finished tapestry piece. Turn this kit into a gorgeous piece of home decor and bring rich history into your home.

Voysey was an English architect and furniture and textile designer, who pioneered modern architecture. His early work involved designing wallpapers, furnishings and fabrics in the Arts and Crafts style. He made an important contribution to the British Art Nouveau style and was part of the Arts and Crafts movement. Which attempted to reform design and decoration in mid-19th century Britain as a reaction against machine and factory production, which was felt to have reduced decorative and fine arts.

The V&A, London is the largest museum of art and design, and houses over 2.3 million objects. The museum stores many of the UK’s national collections and some of the best resources for the study of architecture, furniture, fashion, textiles, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, book arts, Asian art and design, theatre and performance.
